The Adventures of Superbot

In the last "Adventures of Superbot", Clancy tried to find out where he stood in the Frank family.  He suspected Jill asked John to reprogram him as a domestic robot when they were dating.  Clancy’s suspicions were proven true when he asked Jill if his voice could be changed from robot monotone to natural deep or natural medium.  Jill became very upset.  Clancy felt sad and his head started to spin, literally.  As he worried, his head spun faster and faster.  We resume our story as Clancy tries to figure out what to do.  For the full story, read  Paradise Robotics previous newsletters.

While Clancy’s head continued to spin faster, a little smoke started to come out of the crack by his neck.  Clancy really started to worry because he could not stop his head from spinning.  The smoke started pouring out and billowing up in the room.  There was so much smoke, the smoke detector went off.

Jill came running down the stairs, but by the time she arrived, there was so much smoke, she couldn’t see where it was coming from.  Jill ran out of the house.  John had the smoke detectors wired to the fire department.  Within minutes, a fireman found Clancy, whose head was still spinning, and sprayed him down with a fire extinguisher.  That stopped the smoke, briefly.  You see, Clancy’s head continued to spin.

The fireman went outside to talk to Jill.  “Ma’am, something is wrong with your robot.  Its head keeps spinning.  That’s where the smoke came from.  If its head is not stopped, it will surely catch on fire.  Is there a way to turn it off?”  Jill said, “There is an emergency stop button on his chest.  Try that first.”  Jill was surprised Clancy was the source of the problem.  After all, she

Wrex the DawgMini-Wrex

Our expanded Wowwee toy line includes some exciting new offerings.  Most notable is Wrex the Dawg, for ages 8 and up.  Wrex is a humorous, comical junk-yard dog.  He is made from various junk yard parts - that’s why he has wheels for his hind legs.  He has many comical actions, including his spinning jackpot eyes.  Like other Wowwee robots, you can set Wrex’ mood.  He can be set as happy, angry, crazy or in guard mode.  Wrex speaks English, too.  He says different things depending on his mood.  If you try to feed Wrex in the “bone” mode,

he will let you know if he is not hungry.  When Wrex’ mood is crazy, he will “do his business” on command, making a running water sound.  Wrex’ motions and actions can be programmed and played back, or he has his own mind.  At

$149.99, Wrex is a great price.  If that is beyond the budget, purchase Mini-Wrex, for the younger child.  Mini-Wrex looks exactly the same as the larger version, but has spinning eyes, poseable legs and rolls around on his rolling hind legs.  Simple and small, Mini-Wrex is a child’s best friend and is only $14.99.

We have also added the Wowwee AliveTM Cub line.  The cubs
